Home-Made Pomodoro Sauce

San Carlos White Sugar

It’s time to prepare a delicious and authentic Italian recipe, ideal for any type of pasta, lasagna or even pizza!

Ingredients:

  • 1 teaspoon SAN CARLOS WHITE SUGAR
  • 1 kg ripe tomatoes, peeled and chopped.
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 1 or 2 celery stalks
  • 5 basil leaves, chopped
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Preparation:

  • Heat the olive oil in a pot over medium heat, stir-fry the onion,
    celery, carrot and basil, until the onion is translucent.
  • Add SAN CARLOS White sugar and the tomatoes.
    Stir in until the tomatoes are a puree.
  • Reduce the heat, cover the pot (partially), simmer between 15 to 20 minutes,
    until the sauce is reduced a little.
  • Add salt and pepper. Serve hot!
